The Plight of Old Aged People!
Ephesians 5:31 of the Holy Bible says,“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Little had one known this would come true in the worst possible way.
Little had one known that's exactly how people will turn out to be.
Selfish. Insensitive. Heartless.
We all are silent witnesses to the massive rise in the number of old age homes in the country.
We don't fail to discuss in hushed tones about someone who left his mother to wither away in an enshrouded old age home, or worse, someone who keeps his parents with him and never fails to torment them in the last few days of their life.
We are silent spectators to the ordeals faced by old aged people in our own family.
Where have we come to?
The plight of these old ages people is heart wrenching. Why do parents become a burden after a point of time?
The will to stay ''alone''
With the advent of western culture, men and women of our own country wish to lead a peaceful life alone.Nuclear family is becoming a trend. A style statement. Who wants the sight of old, agile parents at home when they go back after clubbing and partying?
Who wants to be advised on petty issues?
Ofcourse nobody!
We are all know-it-all! Parent's advises are treated next to scum and garbage.
And why are only daughter-in-laws blamed? Why does the son turn a blind eyes to his parents being mistreated?
Most of the ''model sons'' today are leaving his own parents and catering to the wishes of his in-laws. It makes me speechless how one can be indifferent to his own parents.
If looking after your in-laws is a responsibility you're fulfilling with desire and happiness, why can't you look after your own parents?
Your wife's important. So are your parents.
She's with you when you are something.
They were with you when you were nothing.
Parents are embarassing?
The richer section today feels it beyond their shallow pride to be seen with ailing or illiterate parents.
What's wrong with it?
Where was your pride when your illiterate boring parents gave you the best education they could?
Where was your pride when you demanded that expensive laptop and your parents spent nights wondering how to arrange one for you?
When your parents were never ashamed of you,how can you be ashamed of your parents?
What do you want?
Just once look at how you're treating your old parents and imagine your children treating you in the same way.
Imagine them treating you like garbage or old furniture .
Imagine them leaving you behind because you're too old fashioned to stay with them.
Imagine them shunning you because you're ailing.
If the mere imagination is giving you jitters, remember that they're learning how parents are to be treated from you.
As you sow,so shall you reap.
It's time to make changes if you want your future to be better.
Your parents are emotionally dependent on you in the last few days of their life.
They don't need your money, they need your time, kind words and affection.
Parents are the closest people to God. Adore them.
They have experienced more ups and downs than you. They have seen more seasons than you have. Respect their advises.
Sit with them. Call them up. Include them in your decisions.
Make them happy.
Inspiring.
